A Strip Club On The Mainland | Wednesday Early Evening

On the outside, the club looked pretty seedy, and it was hard to tell whether the small number of cars in the parking lot was a good sign or a bad one. For at least a few of the cars already there - including a limousine with tinted windows and a very sad-looking sports car that still had half of a JUST MARRIED sign affixed to its rear bumper -- it was probably good, but for any Fandom students looking for a positive strip club experience, it was a little harder to tell.

At the door, there was a bouncer checking IDs (or fake IDs, as the case almost universally was with this crowd), and inside... well, inside was a strip club. There was a stage, there were dancers (of multiple genders, even!), there was a breakfast buffet that looked like it served bacon, and there was a bar. And there was glitter. Lots and lots of glitter.

The night was young, the bouncer was easily fooled, and The Silver Glitter Club was open. Enjoy, Fandomites. Or at least try not to pick up any diseases.

"Do you remember whose idea this was?" Gert asked from a nearby table, tilting her chair back as she addressed Bay. "'Cause I kind of want to smack them. This is gross."

"I have no idea, all I heard was that we were going to a club," Bay said. "I'd join you on the punching. This place is scuzzy, some old guy tried to shake his junk at my face, and there was glitter in my banana somehow."

"...That might be the most horrifying sentence I've ever heard." FYI, Bay. "I figured wherever we were going would be like that movie meta Magic Mike, since we're mostly all girls." And Cade. Hi, Cade! "This is just depressing to watch. And about ninety kinds of offensive."

She had a special glare for the fake lesbians making out with each other. Talk about appropriation.

"It looked way more fun in Magic Mike," Bay agreed. "None of these guys look like Channing Tatum."

She turned around to see what Gert was glaring at, turned back to her friend with a scowl on her face. "Those dancers are totally playing tongue hockey just for bigger tips, right?"

"Yeah, I'm pretty sure those same girls were grinding up on different guys' laps five minutes ago, so that sounds like a safe assumption." Gert's scowl became even less approving when a guy hurried up to the stage to tuck a large bill into one of the girls' waistbands.

In a tone that was dripping with sarcasm, she drawled, "Wow, two girls making out. That's soooo exotic and completely intended for pervy guys to enjoy."

"I know when I make out with my imaginary girlfriend, I always do it in a bar wearing a tiny bikini," Bay responded, voice just as venomous. "It only counts if guys see it."

"And girls who just decide to kiss each other because they want to totally don't exist," Gert continued, rolling her eyes. "God knows what the guys in this place would do if two customers just decided to kiss."

"Massive pandemonium," Bay deadpanned. "The whole place would just fall apart because a couple girls touched lips and it wasn't to turn on a guy."

She savored the prospect of this. "I'd practically kiss you now just to see it."

"Yeah, same here," Gert said, and somewhere in the middle of that sentence she went from joking to somewhat more serious. "You know, it'd actually be a pretty decent social experiment."

"I'm down for it if you are," Bay said, after the tiniest hesitation. "I always wanted to see what it was like anyhow, didn't you?"

And when she was Daphne, she'd seemed pretty attracted to not-Gert. So there was that.

"Kind of, yeah," Gert admitted. "After that one weekend. And if Cade or someone takes pictures or makes a whole annoying thing about it, it's not like I don't have a go-to way to resolve the situation."

She wouldn't really sic Old Lace on Cade or someone. But the option was there.

"So... yeah. Let's."

"Okay," Bay said, and -- so she wouldn't just stare at Gert until they started giggling -- reached a finger up to tip Gert's face toward hers. This might have been a kiss to make a point, but she was still going to do it right.

Gert shared the sentiment, which was why she was going into this with the intention of having it last a little longer than a simple peck on the lips. It was awkward, sure, but if their goal was to be noticed, then they might as well give people more than a few seconds to notice them, right?

So -- yes. Kissing. And such.

This was seriously nice. Not nice enough to make Bay decide she was bi or whatever, but -- nice. Gert's lips were soft and tasted like whatever kind of lip gloss or chapstick or whatever it was that she used. Bay relaxed into the kiss, parting her lips softly before reluctantly pulling back.

"Did anybody notice?"

"Not sure," Gert mused, glancing around for any people who might have witnessed their little spectacle. And then, as she awkwardly adjusted her glasses, she added, "This is going to sound really weird, and I'm pretty confident that it isn't personal, but that was a lot better than giving mouth-to-mouth to a guy who just almost drowned to death."

Bay burst out laughing. "Seriously, that's your standard of comparison?"

"Well, yeah," Gert said, blushing a little. Hey, who knew Gert could blush? "There's a guy from back home who was in the whole Evil Parents Club. He almost died this one time and I was closest to him, so..."

So, mouth-to-mouth had transpired. And then follow-up kissing. Just to be thorough.

"Was I your first kiss that didn't involve anybody almost dying?" Bay asked hesitantly. Because that was just a little awkward.

Oh. That was awkward.

"...I guess, technically," Gert said. This small bit of awkwardness had not occured to her before. "But it's not gonna be weird or anything. I mean, I'm not, you know, into girls."

That was a weird disclaimer to make.

"Not that it would necessarily be weird if I was," she amended. "But. I'm not. Specifically."

"No, me either," Bay said quickly. "I mean, you're cute and everything, but I'm really .... guy-oriented. So, uh. This isn't weird."

She glanced quickly toward the bar, looking for a way out of the conversation since there were really no good places it could go from there.

"Want to find out if their drinks are as scary as their food?"

Now all she had to do was hope really hard that she didn't end up texting Chase tonight. But if she turned off her phone now, nothing bad could happen, right?
